Tag Meir’s mission is to combat all forms of racism, incitement and hate crimes in Israeli society and to advance the values of tolerance, mutual understanding and respect for the Other, as authentic, Jewish values. The name “Tag Meir” (a “badge” of light) is a pun on the term “Tag Mechir”, the Hebrew for “Price Tag” – hate crimes perpetrated by Jewish Israelis towards Palestinians/Israeli-Arabs. Established in 2011, Tag Meir, has grown into an apolitical coalition of 47 organizations from across the religious/ideological/social spectrum.
