ALLMEP is pleased to welcome Steffen Seibert, former German Ambassador to Israel, as the newest member of its Ambassadors’ Council — a body of distinguished leaders from diplomacy, policymaking, and philanthropy who help elevate the visibility and political standing of Israeli-Palestinian peacebuilding work.
Throughout his tenure as ambassador, Seibert stood closely with civil society on the ground. We are delighted that he will now help bring the vital work of ALLMEP’s 200+ member organizations into the heart of German politics.
The Ambassadors’ Council was launched this year to support peacebuilders, deepen impact, and advance the International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace. Chaired by Sir Mick Davis, the Council already includes prominent figures such as the Rt Hon Alistair Burt, Elizabeth Harris-Sawczenko OBE, and Maysa Baransi. At a moment when civil society peacebuilding needs greater strategic centrality and resourcing, this growing group of former diplomats, statespeople, and thought leaders helps ensure that Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilders are seen, heard, and amplified.
Commenting on his new role, Seibert said:
ALLMEP will continue to expand the Ambassadors’ Council internationally throughout the year, with additional gatherings and new members joining the effort to champion the work of Israeli and Palestinian civil society.
