Speaking Jerusalem is a women-led initiative that builds a shared language as the foundation for a shared future between Palestinian and Jewish women in Jerusalem. Founded in 2017, the organization creates opportunities for women from East and West Jerusalem to learn Hebrew and Arabic through experiential activities and direct, ongoing encounters. What began as two friends learning each other’s language has grown into a community of more than 3,000 women. Alongside language learning and community building, Speaking Jerusalem supports Palestinian women’s employment and economic advancement through professional development programs, job-search assistance, mentoring, networking opportunities, and skills-building workshops.
