Chair of MEPPA’s PFP Advisory Board, George Salem, to speak at ALLMEP’s Unite the Field Conference in Jerusalem

ALLMEP’s annual peacebuilders conference, Unite the Field, is less than a month away. On June 5, peacebuilders, diplomats, philanthropists, and supporters from around the world will gather in Jerusalem for what is set to be the largest event in ALLMEP’s history.

Last year, more than 400 people were in attendance for a full day of workshops, panels, and networking events. Just like last year, one highlight is likely to be our  members fair, where member organizations from across ALLMEP’s network of 160+ civil society organizations, showcase their work. From sports to environment, tech to religious peacebuilding, entrepreneurship to arts and culture, these organizations are doing incredible work to create a more just and peaceful reality for Israelis and Palestinians.

We’re thrilled to announce that this year we will be joined by the chair of MEPPA’s PPF advisory board, George Salem. George, who was appointed by USAID Administrator Samantha Power as the board’s inaugural chair, previously served as the Department of Labor’s Solicitor of Labor during the Reagan Administration and as a member of the US Commission for Public Diplomacy for the Middle East. He also co-founded the Arab American Institute in 1985, and has served as treasurer of United Palestinian Appeal, Inc. since 1982, all as part of his life-long commitment Israeli-Palestinian peace. We are delighted that he will be flying in from Washington for the conference and sharing his insights – as well as MEPPA’s broader vision – with the peacebuilding community.

USAID has finalized its first year of MEPPA awards, including several that were granted to ALLMEP members. Appleseeds, Tomorrow’s Youth Organization, EcoPeace Middle East, Our Generation Speaks, Project Rozana, and Peres Center were all among the MEPPA grant recipients and have started implementing their respective projects. Learn more about their work here.

Unite the Field is free to our members and supporters, which is only possible through the generous support of our donors. If you are interested in attending the conference, please register here. You do not need to make a donation to attend, but we are grateful for any support that you can offer.
