Watch Light the Way Here!

On December 12, 10am PT/1pm ET/8pm JLM, the Alliance for Middle East Peace (ALLMEP) hosted its annual gala, “Light the Way: A Global Celebration of the Peacebuilding Community.”

For those interested, segments of the program will be made publicly available on our YouTube channel in the coming days. Thank you for your patience.

The unprecedented intercommunal violence in May and the persistence of racism and mistrust have demonstrated that there is much work to be done. At the same time, however, the historic passage of the Nita M. Lowey Middle East Partnership for Peace Act (MEPPA), the work of ALLMEP’s tireless community, and the promising potential of an International Fund for Israeli-Palestinian Peace offer glimmers of hope for a new path.

We’re thrilled to be joined by a stellar cast of guest speakers, including:

Sally Abed, Activist and Co-Host of Groundwork Podcast
Dina Kraft, Journalist and Co-Host of Groundwork Podcast
Lucy Kurtzer-Ellenbogen, Director, Israeli-Palestinian Conflict Program, United States Institute of Peace
Dr. Khalil Shikaki, Director of the Palestinian Center for Policy and Survey Research
Dr. Dahlia Scheindlin, Director, Independent Opinion Research and Strategy, Ltd.
Ya’ara Saks, Parliamentary Secretary to the Minister of Families, Children, and Social Development (Canada)
Thomas R. Nides, U.S. Ambassador to Israel
Rt. Hon. James Cleverly, MP, Minister of State for the Middle East and North Africa (The United Kingdom of Great Britain and Northern Ireland)
Samantha Power, USAID Administrator

We will also be honoring the leadership of Terry Winograd and Carol Hutner Winograd, MD, whose support and trust has brought incredible transformative potential to the peacebuilding field.

Join us as we reflect on the past year and celebrate ALLMEP’s advocacy efforts and programs—as well as its membership and wider peacebuilding field—that are lighting the way toward a more just and peaceful future.
