Research and Impact Coordination Consultant

Independent contractor: 12-month full-time equivalent, with potential for extension

ALLMEP is seeking a Research and Impact Coordination Consultant to serve as a key external partner supporting collaboration between ALLMEP’s research team and its network of Israeli and Palestinian peacebuilding organizations. Based in Israel or Palestine and working as an independent contractor, this consultant will translate research findings and our flagship project AI Pulse outputs into actionable, accessible insights for ALLMEP’s member organizations, channel member priorities and field priorities back to the research team, and support field-level monitoring and evaluation as part of ALLMEP’s Member Impact project — a 12-month initiative.

This is not solely an analytical or data production role — it is as much about a field engagement role grounded in applied research competencies, with the ability to support stakeholder engagement processes. The ideal candidate brings, in addition to research skills, strong M&E experience, excellent facilitation skills, cultural fluency across Israeli and Palestinian civil society contexts, and the ability to distill complex ideas into practical, digestible recommendations for diverse audiences.

This consultant will collaborate closely with the Director of Impact & Policy Research and the broader project team — including ALLMEP’s Regional Director, Director of Membership Relations, and Director of Programs — to support the effective dissemination of research insights to the civil society peacebuilding field and ensure that the field’s needs continuously inform research design. This role is structured as an independent contractor position, for a limited, 12-month project term, and does not constitute employment with ALLMEP.

KEY DELIVERABLES & OUTCOMES

The ideal candidate is a mission-driven professional who combines research literacy with strong people, instruction, and facilitation skills. The coordinator will be expected to contribute to the following outcomes:

  • ALLMEP member organizations understand and can act on ALLMEP’s research and AI Pulse findings, including by translating and communicating the findings clearly and in an accessible manner.
  • The research team receives timely, well-organized input from the field — emerging priorities, questions, and gaps that shape the next round of polling and research.
  • The M&E framework has been developed, and data collection and monitoring activities are implemented on the ground with rigor and consistency.
  • Stakeholders from diverse organizational backgrounds — Israeli, Palestinian, cross-border CSOs — feel genuinely heard and engaged.
  • Complex research concepts and recommendations are distilled into clear, usable materials without losing their substance.
  • Ensures research insights and field feedback are clearly documented and shared across teams.

SCOPE OF WORK

The consultant will be responsible for delivering the following scope of work:

MEMBER ENGAGEMENT & RESEARCH TRANSLATION (PRIMARY FOCUS, 60%)

  • Serve as a key point of contact between ALLMEP’s research team and ALLMEP member organizations in Israel and Palestine, supporting the two-way flow of insights and priorities
  • Translate AI Pulse findings, polling results, and research outputs into accessible formats tailored to diverse member audiences — across languages, organizational types, and levels of research familiarity
  • Support the preparation of materials and documentation for member-facing sessions — including affinity group meetings, all-member gatherings, and smaller convenings — and synthesize key insights and feedback to inform research priorities
  • Systematically document members’ emerging questions, information needs, and field observations, and synthesize these insights to inform future AI Pulse exercises and research activities
  • Support the facilitation of AI Pulse exercises with civil society audiences (approximately 2 per year); this role focuses on participant engagement, logistics, and documentation — not analysis
  • Develop accessible member-facing materials – including summaries, discussion guides, and facilitation toolkits – that translate research into practical, usable insights.

MONITORING, EVALUATION & LEARNING (40%)

  • Conduct a literature review and background research in support of the field-wide peace impact matrix.
  • Support the development of shared peacebuilding impact indicators, consulting with local M&E experts and partner organizations.
  • Support the piloting of shared peacebuilding impact indicators, by documenting implementation, tracking activity milestones, and synthesizing feedback and learning from member organizations.
  • Contribute to field-level M&E efforts for the Member Impact project by supporting data collection, documentation, and analysis.
  • Conduct interviews and check-ins with member organizations, to assess how research findings are being integrated into programming and messaging.
  • Assist in compiling evidence and documentation for donor reporting and learning memos.

This role supports, but does not lead, member convenings or overall project coordination, which are managed by ALLMEP’s program team.

REQUIRED

  • Master’s degree in peace and conflict studies, public policy, political science, social sciences, or a related field
  • Demonstrated M&E experience, including indicator development, data collection, and reporting

  •  3–5 years of relevant exzperience in applied research, program evaluation, or civil society engagement, with a strong M&E component
  • Proven ability to translate complex research or policy concepts into clear, accessible recommendations for non-specialist audiences
