Middle Meets is a student-founded and student-led people-to-people initiative that brings together Jewish and Palestinian students from universities across Israel, together with students from Europe and the United States, for sustained and facilitated dialogue on the Israeli–Palestinian conflict.
It was created in response to the war in Israel and Gaza and to the sharp deterioration of relations and public discourse on university campuses after October 7, 2023.
Middle Meets seeks to restore the university as a space in which difficult questions can be examined openly, critically, and humanely. Its aim is not to impose political agreement, but to enable participants to listen, acknowledge one another’s experiences, engage seriously with disagreement, and remain in conversation even when the discussion becomes painful.
The initiative has created a growing alumni and leadership community. Approximately 50 alumni remain actively involved in facilitation, curriculum development, community activities, and the leadership of new cohorts.
