Women Lawyers for Social Justice is an Israeli advocacy organization working to advance the rights of disenfranchised women and elevate the voices of diverse women in the public discourse. Itach and Ma’aki both mean ‘with you’ in Hebrew and Arabic respectively, and our organization is built on a structure of Jewish-Arab partnership. Via legal aid, litigation, policy change, leadership training, public advocacy and community organizing, Itach-Ma’aki is advancing the rights of women from marginalized groups nationwide. Simultaneously, our multicultural group of women lawyers and activists are working towards a society in which women’s solidarity and identification with a shared vision for justice can overcome the fragmentation in Israeli society.
