The Acco Theater Center was established in 1984 as a creative space that functions with complete artistic independence. It is professional and multicultural, bringing together people with different hopes and visions who work together to bring their ideas to the stage.
The theater’s founders set themselves two main goals:
• Developing an original theatrical language through an authentic process of research, together with creative involvement with the local community.
• A firm commitment to the creation of a cultural bridge between Jews and Arabs in Israel.
Theater can provide a physical, communal space to transform collective hardships into creative energy, allowing for shared experience, meaning-making, and the development of social identities.
The Acco Theater Center’s major activities include:
• Community Theater
• Masarchid Festival
• Cultural evenings
• Ongoing performances
• Fringe Theater Festivals
