ALLMEP is convening its annual conference on the theme of Intergenerational Responsibility. Save the date – April 2, 2020
Poll after poll shows that there is a crisis in attitudes among Israeli and Palestinian youth. Democratic norms in Israel and Palestine are in crisis. Educational standards are declining and socio-economic gaps are growing. For Palestinians, there is less freedom of movement than at any point in the conflict’s history. And the very environment that Israelis and Palestinians are fated to share is in a state of emergency.
We are in the middle of an intergenerational failure, and we have never handed a worse set of circumstances to an emerging generation of Israelis and Palestinians.
That is why ALLMEP is convening its annual conference on this theme. On April 2nd, we are inviting the entire peacebuilding field, the diplomatic community, and philanthropic leaders for a strategic conversation on Intergenerational Responsibility.
We know that people-to-people work is one of the few methods proven to be effective at disrupting these attitudes. If properly-resourced and working cohesively, our community can be a vanguard for disrupting these negative trends, and creating a more equitable society and sustainable peace for the emerging generation.
